I couldn't sign it
Should have signed it. Made sense to sign it. Have been meaning to sign it.
Couldn't sign the embryo destruction form that I requested from the RE.
We pay to keep our one remaining embie frozen for a whopping $65 per month. My RE let us know in Feb. that they were moving to a yearly fee (equal to 12 monthly fees) and that it was due. But they were still charging my card monthly. So, while I was trying to get that sorted out it occured to me that we shouldn't be paying for something that we decided (or thought we had decided) never to use again. So we requested the destruction forms. And the day they came, another reminder came from the RE about the yearly fee. So somebody tell me why I wrote out the check and threw away the destruction papers.
It wasn't a question, for instance, of destruction vs. donation. Just that I couldn't bear to see anything else happen to our embie. I know that deep down I might try the ART path again. Maybe one day.
The financial coordinator even called me to ask what was going on. She knew we had requested the papers and then asked why I had paid. My answer, "I just can't do it".
