Off to Vegas tomorrow

Well, I am NOT ready to go yet. Don't get me wrong, I am ready; it's just that I have been uber busy lately and haven't had time to focus on it.

I have done the laundry but haven't begun packing. I may try to leave work a little early today to go home and get that done. We leave in the am on an early flight to vegas. We are staying at the Bell@gio for four nights and, for a change, I haven't really planned an itinerary. I did get us tickets to the Cirque de Soleil show 'Mystere' for Friday (which is our anniversary). 5 years already, where does the time go, hmph!

Other than that, I gave DH a list of a bunch of things to do in Vegas. I have been before, so I don't really care what we do as long as I get to relax! So, I told him to take a look and narrow it down to a handful of things we would like to do or see while there. Then we can do everything on the fly instead of planned to death. Now, anyone who knows me would say that this never would come out of my mouth. But honestly, I just need a total break.

While there, I plan on sleeping in, going to the pool a lot, visiting a spa, eating exotic things, walking a ton on the strip, shopping and just relaxing as much as possible. I also like to drop a quarter into a slot machine in each casino we go in. Even though neither one of us is much on gambling, I think it will be fun to try that. I also may plop down for a couple of hands of blackjack too! Half the fun there is just checking out the lobbies and pools of the other hotels. Although in this case, not many can top the Bell@gio.

We have a direct flight out and back, which is nice. It makes it easier to sleep on the long flight. Unfortunately, we are leaving from one airport in DC and coming into another. So I had to arrange for my sister to pick us up when we get back and take us across town to our car (30 miles or so). The timing is ok for her since we are taking a red-eye back and land at 6am on Monday morning. She can grab us on her way to work and drive to the other airport (using HOV no less ;) which is very close to where she works. Then I get to use Monday as a recovery day, since I am sure that I won't get good sleep on that red-eye flight.

I should be back on the blog by Monday night. I can't wait!!!
