More on my Vegas trip
We did and saw it all for this 5 year anniversary trip. Since neither my DH or I are big gamblers, he was concerned that there wouldn't be enough to do for our 5 day trip. Silly, silly man.
We stayed at the Bellagio, which was amazing. We ate in a few of the restaurants there, including Jasmine. It just about lived up to the recommendations that we had gotten. A little overpriced, but what isn't in Vegas. We saw the Monet exhibit there and the atrium and lounged at the pool some. We made a point to see the fountain show out front during the day, dusk and night. They were all spectacular.
We also had a plan that as we ventured out to all the other hotels that we would drop a quarter in a slot in each of them. I am soooo unlucky. I never had a single win, not one quarter. But the first time hubby put a quarter ina machine he won fifteen bucks. Oh well, gambling is for the birds anyway.
We saw one of the Cirque du Soleil shows, Mystere, at Treasure Island. I got us front row tickets and it really was amazing. There were a few close calls with getting to participate with the show (since we were up front), but we did manage to avoid it.
We went up the Eiffel Tower, up the Stratosphere, went to Mandalay Bay's shark reef (not worth the money by the way), Mirage's Sigfried and Roy's Secret Garden, into the Luxor for arcade games, in NY, NY, MGM Grand, etc. We did most of this by walking (thus the no weight gain). Had a few more fancy dinners, only one bad weather day. And we were there for the opening of the Wynn hotel. The $2.7 billion monstrosity (same guy who built the Bellagio). So the whole city was a mad house. We had a great time, but it wasn't really that relaxing. I am glad that I chose to take Monday off (since we red-eyed back Sunday-Monday). It let me get some much needed sleep.
And by the way, I cheated and got on the scale again just to see if the vacation maintenance was just a fluke or my eyes playing tricks on me, and I couldn't believe what I saw. 198. I don't know the last time I saw a number under 200 pounds. I just am so proud of myself. Now I have to not get cocky and stick to this plan that has been working for me so far.
